Landmark Trivia

  • Stonehenge is in many ways atypical - for example, at over 24 feet tall, its extant trilithons supporting lintels held in place with mortise and tenon joints, make it unique.
  • The dating of cremated remains found on the site shows that burials took place there as early as 3000 BC.
